Apologies to Trek H

Liz Bradbury has kindly pointed out that there is no picture of Trek H at EBC. That is an oversight on my part, and I apologise profusely. Needless to say, Trek H arrived at Everest Base Camp, and carried out their testing with great gusto.

We are currently on a day off, and Mike and Sundeep are trying to work out what would be a good day to go up the mountain again. They are consulting weather reports and talking to other expedition leaders to get a feel for their summit attempt.

The base camp staff are frantically washing themselves and their clothes before tomorrow, when Trek J are due to arrive at Everest Base Camp. I am off to the bakery for the second day in a row, trying to revers the weight loss I am experiencing.

Mac is currently trekking in with Trek K, as his girlfriend is on this trek, so no blogs from him for the moment.

Finally, two happy birhtdays to mention. One to Graham Hoyland from the BBC for last Saturday, and one for Jules Harvey for today.

Hi Kay,

I think it's an incredible job you are all doing and I want to thank you for keeping the blog which makes it easier for the not so adventurous (me for instance) to follow the expedition. The reason behind the project is quite extraordinary.

If you get the chance, please tell my lovely boyfriend Jon Bradshaw that I am thinking of him and am looking forward to him coming home soon.

Well done to you, your team and all the trekkers for everything you have acheived so far.

Tell Jon I'm very proud of him and i'll make sure the heating's on when he gets home! :)

Chloe x

Hi Kay
If you speak to Daniel can you tell him that we were sorry to miss his call today but our phones were turned off and the office was closed as it was his Grandfather's funeral. Send him our love from everyone at home and wish him good luck and tell him to keep safe. Good luck to all the summiteers.

Hi Kay

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the picture of Group H - I knew Dave would have a big smile on his face but it was so reassuring to see it for myself ! I can't wait to hear all about his experiences when I see him on Thursday. Both of us will be following the continuing blogs for the remainder of the expedition. The organization has been amazing. Good Luck to the summit team. Hope you stop losing weight and keep well. Thanks again, Liz Bradbury.

Please tell Mike that we want him, Denny and the rest of the diploma faculty back for a faculty meeting in Derbyshire on 4/5th August. We will be in the sun on God's own rock doing some real climbing without those big bulky boots and silly O2 masks which stop you seeing the footholds. Dave H.

Hi Kay,
maybe you wouldn't mind sending Ryan Ross to the bakery as well? He has told me that he's down to 65 klg, a solid 15 to 20 lbs (almost 10 klgs?) less than before he arrived! It is amazing the toll spending time at high altitude takes on your body.
And, i've enjoyed very much your Blogs on this site, so thank you!

Hi Liesl - good to see looking happy and rosy on the last blog - hope your choccy supplies have lasted and so the craving for that isn't too bad! I know you probably want some news from home but it all seems so terribly dull in comparison to your adventures on the mountain! Really there is nothing much to report - Bushra has been ill so no progress on the paper to date - oh I nearly forgot, my paper has been accepted for the BMJ - AT LAST - now that is exciting! Byyee for now

Hello Kay,

Poor Trek H! I am sure they have forgiven you. If that is the only thing you have forgotten in all of your organising you are doing well.

Nice to see Trek I made it in tact. Hello to the Manchester Posse, hope you are all well. Good as well to see Ian's deerstalker works at high altitude! Big hello to Ian Edge from me, Dad, Leah, Mum and Dad Edge, Colin, Sue, Graham and Anna not to forget Warrington Road Runners who are missing their Guru on a Thursday evening (at least I think that's what Robin said!)

See you soon Edgy.
Love Norma : )
xx

Miss Kay,
Thank you your update. I have missed your commentaries. Ryan tells me that the time is fast approaching for a summit bid. I hope all will continue safely. Weight loss appears inevitable but I would imagine cravings to increase dramatically as time remaining decreases. Be well and all the best.
