Meltdown

I am back after 7 weeks away, and already in a panic about leaving for Everest in March of next year. As we start testing the trekkers on January 4th, five days a week, from 9 to 5.30, I really have to have most of my jobs sorted by Christmas!

There is so much to do, it would be easy to work 12 hours days, but this leaves no time for keeping in training for next year. I have yet to get back to running club, because of a cold, and travelling to LA last week, so went out for a run this weekend for the first time since coming back from Nepal. It was not a happy experience!

I have almost completely regained the 5kg that I lost on the expedition. It is amazing how fast it is regained. Mind you, I have been hitting the chocolate bars, eating ice cream, and crisps, which is something I never normally do with such enthusiasm.

It has been good to get back to the office, and catch up with the team members that did not make it to Cho Oyu 2006. Blanche, who covered for me whilst I was away, has done a fantastic job, and this has made it easier for me to catch up. Tomorrow is the start of another week. I am looking forward to it!
