My Name is Chung Ta Yak

Namaste! Mero naam Chung Ta Yak ho. (Hello! My name is Little Yak.) I cannot wait to see the Caudwell Xtreme Everest team arrive in Namche Bazaar. I am a young Yak. Yaks belong to the family of cows. We live above 3000m. That is why we cannot meet the team in Kathmandu. That city is only at 1300m.
In my family we help our owners with several things in daily life. My aunt is very good at giving high quality milk. Yogurt and cheese are made from it. The team may eat that during their stay. My uncle and aunt on Dad?s side have very nice long hair. When the hair is shaved the Nepalese people use it as wool for making things. In the shops in Namche Bazaar they sell things woven from this wool. Our dung can be used as fuel on fires to cook food and heat the Nepalese peoples? homes.
My father and big brother are helping their drivers walking up the mountain. Sometimes they carry things to be sold. Mostly they carry luggage for people who are trekking. My father is really strong. He can carry up to 70kg. When I am grown up I want to do that as well. Now I am training for it. If your bag is not too heavy I can carry it for you!
I wish the team a good trip, and welcome them to Namche Bazaar. Post a comment on this article... Open message form

I will be bringing with me a Tera Nova tent inner destined for Base Camp. If it is not too heavy I wonder whether you would be able to carry it from Namche Bazaar to Base Camp for me ? If it is too heavy then maybe we could get one of your shaven relatives to help.
Well done to all the team and Good luck.
Chris
