Nostalgia

I have been working on the first Caudwell Xtreme Everest reunion this week, and it has inspired me to reread a lot of the messages that people sent whilst we were out in Nepal. It reminded how well supported we all felt whilst living at Everest Base Camp, and missing loved ones back home. Thank you, one and all! Early next week, I will be sending out a formal invitation about the reunion to all our trekkers and core team members. Keep an eye out for it.

Dan Martin is leading the charge on preparing papers for publication of some of our very early results. Professor Monty Mythen and colleagues are currently featured on the Biomed central blog. Critical care article describes Everest hypoxia research project. This links to a commentary on the expedition in 'Critical Care'. (See link bottom right) We will be creating a page on this website soon, detailing all the publications related to this project to date. Team members have also started speaking at conferences, schools, and to interest groups about the research expedition.

Finally, a few members of the Caudwell Xtreme Team were invited to lunch at the House of Lords. This was an event hosted by Baroness Pitkeathley on behalf of the Intensive Care Foundation. The Foundation sponsored the Pheriche lab during the expedition.
