Deltex Medical's CardioQ oesophageal Doppler monitor is the first and only technology proven to allow doctors to actively manage patients'circulating blood volume during surgery and thereby reduce the number and severity of post-operative complications and the time patients have to spend in hospital after their operation.

Scientists from UCL are using an innovative sister device, the entirely non-invasive SupraQ, in a number of investigations on the Xtreme Everest expedition: the SupraQ is being used to measure the effect of altitude and exercise on circulating blood volume in both adults and children.
