More science.. and a walk

Mac supervises DRASH tent erection
Once again, we need to set the labs up- but this time, we are even faster than before. By days end, the Drash shelter (Oh! What a wonderful thing it is!) is set up, and Denny and Kay have the whole CPX system calibrated. They truly are miracle workers. Indeed, such is their efficiency that some of us are able to wander for a walk towards ?lake camp?- halfway to Camp 1. We walk over loose moraine, and past the whipped meringue peak of the glacier, stopping to take the occasional photograph. I walk with Paul Gunning, our team photographer, who has a sixth sense for a good shot. He is ever scampering into improbable positions and returning with breathtaking shots.

We return as mist sweeps into the valley and cloud descends, before watching a DVD (yes, we are that deprived!). Tonight?s fare is ?The Usual Suspects?- a great film even for those who have seen it before?
