Multimat offers an unrivalled choice. Carefully selected foams from worldwide sources are used to ensure optimum performance for specific applications. Whether you are on your first great outdoor adventure, an experienced outdoor sport extremist or tackling Everest, you can 'be comfortable sleep warm' with your Multimat.

The mats selected for use by the Xtreme Everest team for their Expedition, have been subject to extensive field trials and widely used in environmental conditions matched to the demands that will be placed on them during this expedition.

During the summit stages the team will use the Multimat self-inflating Summit 25/38 (CMSI-EU025/38L), from the ?Unsupported Expedition Range?. To reduce the weight of this particular mat, it has a tapered thickness profile from 38mm at the torso area of the mat to 25mm at the leg area, giving the resultant midway wedge profile. This mat is 1830 x 510mm, has an excellent tog value of 7.8 and a specific torso core "Warm Zone" to achieve this critical insulation where it is most needed. The Summit 25/38 has a super fast inflation/deflation valve, which performs 3x faster than competitor products in the market place. In addition, the fleece lined stuff sack can be used as a luxury pillowcase and weighs in at 815g. All Multimat self-inflating mats are supplied complete with a repair patch and adhesive tube.

The team has opted to combine with this self Inflating mattress the standard cross-linked, Closed Cell Foam Summit Mat (CM-EU012XL), offering both warmth & comfort to the user in extreme conditions & protection to the Summit 25/38 from hazards of puncture on the ground adding a further tog value of 3 and weighing in at only 355g.

At the Base Camp the self-inflating Ice Mat 100 (CMSI-AC100XXL) from the Advance Camp range will be used. This mat is 1980 x 660 x 100mm in size, weighs 1990g with an excellent tog value of 9.5. This mat, which has two super fast valves, is made from durable 150D polyester and has Velcro side joining strips. To offer the ultimate in comfort and warmth an additional Fleece Mat Cover is being used weighing 850g adding an additional 1.9 tog of warmth.
At base Camp a cross-linked, Closed Cell Foam Ice Mat 18 (CM-AC018XXL) is an essential piece of kit for the team and completes this integrated sleep system. It offers an under layer protecting the Ice Mat 100 and boosts the thermal tog value to exceed 15 tog, leaving the user well rested and refreshed for the challenge ahead."

Beacons Products are proud sponsors of the Xtreme-Everest Expedition.

We wish you good luck and a successful summit.
