On Xtreme Everest there will an enormous amount of expedition and medical kit to keep track of. There will also be 208 trekkers and many researchers and climbers all of who will be undergoing a wide range of tests. All of the equipment will be bar-coded allowing the team to keep a live computer based inventory system running.

All the personnel involved may well be fitted with a bar coded identification tag so that they can be booked in and out of individual test protocols with greater reliability.
