A lot of the equipment that will be used on Xtreme Everest was designed for a laboratory environment. Where it will be used in 2007 is amongst the most arduous climates on the planet. To protect the equipment in structures that are portable and durable was vital. The DRASH shelters produced by Milsys were developed for the military and are used for command and control centres, field hospitals and maintenance facilities. Tested in the Alps and on Cho Oyu, those who have used it have become firm fans.
