The guys who made it to Camp 2 unfortunately had a terrible nights sleep. So much so, that Alex van Tulleken and Denny Levett have had to call it a day and will be heading back to Camp 1 this morning. With both the twins now unable to summit, Alex has passed on a crop of his hair for Paul Gunning to plant on the top of Cho Oyu!

The remainder of the ?Camp 2? team will be leaving for Camp 3 at about 10:30. The weather on the mountain is crystal clear and I believe that the winds have dropped considerably since yesterday. Their plan is to then leave for the summit at 02:00 Monday morning, with the hope of reaching the top by about 11:00 Monday 2nd October.

Meanwhile, the ?Camp 1? team consisting of Dan, Pat and Jon are leaving their camp this morning in order to make Camp 2 later today. With time against the team and flights booked, I believe that these guys will attempt the summit from Camp 2, so having to leave much earlier.

The rest of the team on the mountain ? Kay, Denny and the VT twins plan to de-camp Camp 1 today and possibly all come back down to ABC. This depends upon how long Denny and Alex take to climb back down to Camp 1.

Spirits are still high within the team and optimistic of summiting. Considering that a week ago we had deep snow, very cold conditions and high winds, when no-one thought they would make it, it has been a dramatic turn around in our fortune ? long may it continue.

Watch this space for more news with regards to the Camp 1 and 2 teams and how they are getting on.
