Dr Michael O'Dwyer

Mick is a doctor specialising in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care medicine based in the Republic of Ieland. Currently, he is completing a PhD in immunology and Genetics at Trinity College, Dublin. He is involved in both science at Base Camp, and as a member of the Summit Team, will be helping to obtain and analyse the summit blood samples.

Mick grew up in the foothills of the Comeragh mountains in Clonmel. He has continued his mountaineering worldwide with numerous ascents over 6000m in the Andes, and a summit of the Himalayan peak, Cho Oyu in 2005 with the Caudwell Xtreme Everest team.
